Activity Information

Notes from the Profe Store are intentionally simple and straightforward to minimize direct instruction. For each lesson I have created a PowerPoint notes presentation and student notes guide. I also included PDF versions of both, which would be easy to post online for students who are absent.

These notes were designed with flipped classrooms in mind, so they are efficient as possible (no photos or frills). The meat of the explanation is clear and concise in English. The notes include direct instruction and a few examples to practice, but they do not include games and interpersonal activities – that is intentional so that flipped classrooms can keep the instruction self-guided without class activities.

If you like this style of direct instruction, these notes are also available as part of my Verb and Grammar Notes Bundle

These are also available in leveled bundles:

Spanish 1 Notes

Spanish 2 Notes

Spanish 3 Notes

Spanish 4 Notes

Topic Information:

These notes review basic Spanish accent rules:

-Words ending in vowel/n/s should emphasize penultimate syllable, otherwise they need an accent.

-Words ending in other consonants should emphasize last syllable, otherwise they need an accent.

-If two words are spelled the same, the more important word gets an accent (él vs el, tú vs tu, cuándo vs cuando).

-It give specific examples of adding IOPs and DOPs to infinitives, commands, and progressive verbs.

-It does not explain diphthongs because I wanted to keep it simple and manageable.

-I made this for advanced students to give a brief explanation without overwhelming them. If you want to get into all the nitty gritty of diphthongs and such, this may be a better fit.

These notes primarily focus on the ACTFL language comparison standard.
