Battleship is a fun conjugation review game. The kids fill in the grid. I do give it for homework at times with the directive that if it’s not completed the student cannot play the next day in class. Before we play, we review the answers together. Then I have students make 3 or 4 “ships” by darkening boxes of verb conjugations. They may not include the infinitives nor the subject pronouns. Ships can be vertical or horizontal (not diagonal because ships don’t fair well in water in that shape). One ship is 2 boxes, another 3 boxes, one of 4 boxes, and one of 5. Once the “ships” are drawn, students put their sheet in their folder and find an opponent from across the room and sit facing him/her. In a mixed gender group, ladies go first or the student with the closest birthday if a homogenous pair is formed. A student calls out the subject pronoun and the verb conjugation “I swim”. If the opponent has that box as part of a ship, the attacking student gets to call another conjugation. If the box is not part of a ship the other student takes a turn. The game is over when all ships are “sunk”. I use the following words to ensure they speak in Spanish

 Fallado for missed
 Golpeado for struck
 Destruído for sunk
