Do you ever have days when your students just need time to practice working with the vocabulary and unit grammar... and you just need a chance to breathe? Then this mini-bundle is for you!
These are all SIMPLE activities and menus that I have created to help students review vocabulary, verbs, and grammar that can be applied to any unit. This mini-bundle includes:
1. Differentiated Homework Menu & Learning Styles Inventory
Students take a learning styles inventory, then select review strategies that align with their learning styles. This could make a great sub plan!
2. Flashcard Strategy Menu
A menu of a dozen activities your students can do with flashcards - in class with you, with a sub, or at home with their parents.
3. Homework Menus
Two menus for students in September for the whole year - one for vocabulary and one for verb conjugation - with options of various study activities they can choose from on any given unit. This works for emergency sub plans as well.
Same concept as homework menus, but with a twist - students get a board of 9 activities and must select 3 that create a tic-tac-toe line. There is one for vocabulary and one for verb conjugation. 3 activities can easily fill an hour with a sub.
5. Vocabulary Comic Strip Templates
Four blank comic strip templates with prompts to have students illustrate and write dialogues using their current vocabulary. You can assign one or put out all four and let students self-select for differentiation.
6. Vocabulary Sorting Activities
Four basic templates to have students sort their vocabulary - by parts of speech or by their level of understanding. Includes a Spanish prompt version and an English prompt version so you can make sure your students understand the instructions.
7. What Am I Vocabulary Activity
Go-to homework assignment and all-day target language use the next day! I've included both an English and a Spanish version. Students pick four words and write clues personifying them.
8. Spanish Alphabet Race
A quick go-to game to fill a half hour with any advanced language class or ELA or ESL class. Students are given a category and must brainstorm a vocabulary word related to that category that starts with each letter.
9. Password Circumlocution Games
A Powerpoint game that gets kids using circumlocution to talk about any set of vocabulary. I've pre-made several sets of English clues to be described in Spanish and a template that you can edit if you want them to describe Spanish vocab words in English.
