Include Hispanic art and culture with your grammar and vocabulary practice! Students interpret 9 sentences about a market scene done by Colombian artist Fernando Botero. If a sentence is false, students must correct the incorrect words. Students then translate all 9 sentences and are also instructed to write a Spanish vocabulary word on each line pointing to different objects in the painting such as birds, bananas, flowers, and bread. Verbs used include llevar, hay, vender, ser, and saber, and vocabulary used includes dinero, pintura, mercado, mujer, hombre, carne, mariscos, árboles, bicicleta, pájaros, chaquetas, y perros. The download includes a full size portrait that can be projected in class.
This is a great activity to use during Hispanic Heritage Month!
The answer key is included.
