I know that you can stay in the target language and manage classroom behavior better when you take charge of your students’ communications and transitions. This is one of the first steps to keeping them in the target language!
Teach them seven slides a day during the pre-class. Play the musical powerpoint slide show and have them strive to imitate the native speakers' accents.
On day 3 they will work with partners , and if you follow my instructions, they tend to enjoy the rotating row activity. Thereafter I play parts of the video during the pre-class (its 14 minutes long!) and after the third week I just play the audio. Then the magic happens and the music puts the expressions in long term memory and students start popping out with the expressions when talking spontaneously with one another.
Email me with any questions. If you need a word version, I can send it to you but it made the file to large to upload. Contact me at mrsshrager!comcast.net
