NOTE: There is a very small typo (see feedback) that needs to be corrected. I am having technical difficulties and am working on getting it fixed. For now, please note that you will need to edit the MS Word version of the activity to fix the word "medalla" on the front of the page (which auto-corrected to "medulla," as I did not have the language set to Spanish!) I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
This Book of Life activity is great for a sub or just one of those "I desperately need a little break but still want them to be engaged in learning" days that we've all had! For lower-level students, there is an activity with several statements in the present tense that need to be matched with the character to whom they pertain. There are a couple post-viewing questions that students can answer in English, as well. For upper level students, there are Spanish Twitter templates with the three main characters that students can fill out to summarize the action of the film in tweets. You can either assign a character to them or let them choose one.
In summary, the following are included:
1. Viewing activity in simple present tense with basic vocabulary to match statements to characters. (Best suited to Spanish 1 or early Spanish 2.)
2. Three Spanish Twitter templates, featuring the characters of Maria, Joaquin, and Manolo.
3. BONUS: Blank Twitter template which can be used for other characters in the movie or for whatever else you want!
4. Answer key for viewing activity.
All files except instructions come in both Word and PDF formats so that you may edit if you'd like.
NOTE: Twitter templates assume a basic knowledge of how Twitter works. They do not contain explicit instructions. You may need to find someone to explain them to you if you aren't familiar with Twitter basics. :-)
