After being frustrated that I cannot find Spanish games easily in this country, I have started to make my own. This is my version of Manzanas con Manzanas. My version uses all cognates so even beginning Spanish students can play. Some noun cards are popular fiction characters and famous people.
The card asks one player to draw an adjective card and all the other players choose a noun from their hand that they feel goes best with the drawn adjective card. The player who drew the adjective card picks which makes the best match and therefore chooses the winner.
My game includes:
16 adjective cards
40 noun cards
Design features on each card to differentiate each deck easily.
I am not going to lie, it isn't the easiest activity to prepare but there are two ways to look at this:
-You can print cards on thin paper and have student groups all cut before playing.
-You can print cards on cardstock (and maybe laminate) to make more durable.
I have printed 3 decks and use them in Stations so the whole class doesn't have to have a deck.
