This is an excellent project to do during the last week of school before Christmas break. Students are divided into groups of four and then they research and present about the holiday traditions of another Spanish speaking country. This assignment includes clear roles for each student and a rubric to grade the project. There is one page of instructions for each student that outlines exactly what they should do and what their role is. It is an awesome project and great for keeping students focused near the end of the year.
Note: There is a powerpoint that goes along with this. (Search for "Spanish Culture Project Powerpoint") The powerpoint is basically a rough-draft of the project that details what information students should include on each slide. It is very helpful for a starting point for the project and helps students produce a high-quality project.
