This is an engaging bundle of activities that utilizes multimedia and cultural discussion to bring your students into the language during your informal command unit, or during a study of the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico.
This can serve as a review for the informal command grammar unit, or as a cultural activity at any point during the year.

Students first watch the video (lyric videos can be found on youtube.com) and listen to the words of the song. During the second play of the video, students should read along in Spanish. Students can then take a few minutes to complete the comprehension questions that review informal commands. After review of this sheet together, students are then called to research the Dominican Republic (where Prince Royce's family is from) and Puerto Rico. These topics should provide for a varied cultural discussion that promotes acceptance and open-mindedness as well as language learning.
