Make daily writing and vocabulary expansion
a quick and fun part of your routine! This SPANISH Daily Writing Journal/Diaro de Escritura
provides diverse vocabulary and cute images to cover the entire spring semester, January through May!
Each month's packet includes:
* a calendar page
for students to color and fill in, with a special section to track classmates' birthdays
* a weather charting graph
, offered with 2 options for titles ("el clima" and "el tiempo") to allow for regional variations
* themed, lined writing pages
, with 2 options:
"draw and write" or "color and write"
Writing pages include these features:
* a target, seasonal vocabulary word
at the top
Vocabulary words are presented without an article, allowing teachers to differentiate student practice. E.g., Teachers may prompt students to use definite articles, possessive pronouns, etc, per current academic goals.
* a space to draw or color
a picture of the target word
Decide if you would like your class to draw or color, and print the appropriate pages. Alternatively, allow students to choose if they would like to draw or color, and print writing journals that are tailored to student preferences.
* 3 writing lines
Students may use these lines to write a definition, use the word in a sentence, begin a story, etc, per your prompt.
* 2 prompts reminding students to check their work
Students check boxes at the bottom of the page to confirm that their sentences begin with an upper case letter and end with a period.
This writing packet is easy to DIFFERENTIATE!
Provide sentence prompts to those who need it (e.g., "Use the words 'me gusta' in your sentence"), category requirements for those who are ready (e.g., "Use a color word in your sentence."), etc. Possibilities are endless!
This Spanish Daily Writing Journal is a zip folder.
When you open the zip, you will find a separate file for each month's writing pages. Additionally, inside the file named "cover," you will find a page for students to color to create a cover for their journals.
