This is a game where students race to be the first team to correctly tell the date in Spanish. It reminds students to follow the structure of “el número de mes”. I have typically used this with 3rd and 4th graders who need to take the date topic a bit more slowly, but this could also be used with other grades.
1. Determine how many groups you will have (groups of 3 or 4 students are good).
2. Print out an English date sheet and a Spanish set of squares for each group. The English date sheet does not need to be cut, but all the Spanish squares should be cut on the lines.
3. Each group races to be the first to put all date squares in order next to the correct English date.
4. The first group finished and completely correct wins.
