Description

Spanish classroom writing activity, class decor, and bulletin board for Day of the Dead! The included writing prompt serves as a great way for students to write in various tenses. The Día de Muertos theme is perfect for late October - early November bulletin board in Spanish Class! These provide for fun Spanish class decorations, or a relaxing activity after a day of state testing.

Included:

1 Writing prompt "Hoy quiero recordar..."

5 Classroom decor images where students simply fill in the name of the person they'd like to remember

1 Printable Bulletin Board message - "Hoy celebramos y recordamos"

Print and hang as is, or cut out the letters for more pop if you'd like!

How I use it:

My students first complete the writing prompt. Easily differentiated between levels, this writing prompt allows students to remember someone in their lives (or perhaps a celebrity that has passed but had an impact on them.) Novice students can describe the person (or even pet), while upper level students can go into detail about their life and accomplishments, and the impact they made.

Then, students make a quick decoration for as many people as they'd like. Sometimes this is dedicated to a grandparent that has passed away, or sometimes for a pet or a celebrity. Students are not forced, but able to pay tribute to anyone they would like. Students have the option to keep their dedication or add it to our class bulletin board, with the message "Hoy celebramos y recordamos."

Special thanks!

These materials are accompanied by beautiful Day of the Dead clipart from Mrs. Cabello's Spanish Class!

Enjoy!
