This is a magic squares puzzle, acrostic puzzle, and word scramble to help students learn the days of the week, months of the year, and seasons in Spanish. Answer keys are included.
Magic Squares Puzzle: Students write the number of the Spanish word into the square with the matching English word. If completed correctly, each row and column will add up to the same magic number. This is a fun way for students to review the days of the week, months of the year, and the four seasons.
Acrostic Puzzle: Students fill in the boxes of the puzzle with the Spanish words listed below. Students will also use the letters in the phrase “EL DIECISÉIS DE SEPTIEMBRE” to help them complete the puzzle. As a bonus question, students will figure out what Mexican holiday is celebrated on September 16th. This activity works well as a warm-up and review of the days of the week, months of the year, and the four seasons.
Word Scramble: Students unscramble the letters to form the Spanish days of the week and months of the year. This is a great way for students to review vocabulary and to practice spelling the days of the week and months of the year in Spanish.
Vocabulary used: la fecha, lunes, martes, miércoles, jueves, viernes, sábado, domingo, enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre, la primavera, el verano, el otoño, and el invierno
