Beginning Spanish students can practice the days of the week with this simple dice activity. First, have students assemble the die. Then students take turns rolling. For whatever day of the week they roll, they must state in Spanish what day come before, what day it is, and what day comes after. For instance, if she rolls "lunes", she must say "Ayer fue domingo. Hoy es lunes. Manana es martes." Students who do this correctly score a point. Roll "Dobla", and you have a shot at earning double points.
A fun way to get kids speaking the target language from the very beginning. Play competitively or not, in small groups or with a whole class according to the preferences of your learners.
