This is a fun and engaging way to practice demonstrative adjectives in Spanish.
Students are given a grid of 16 silly phrases like "aquellos murcielagos tristes" [those sad bats way over there] and need to illustrate a stick figure and the bats. The key is for students to illustrate the appropriate distance between these objects. For example, "este/estos/esta/estas" would be illustrated with a stick figure very close to the objects. On the other hand, "aquel/aquellos/aquella/aquellas" would have stick figures very far away from the objects.
An example is included. Students need to create two phrases and drawings for the last boxes in the grid.
My students really loved this activity. I gave them a time limit, and they weren't happy when I told them when time was up! This is a fun, creative way to learn a pretty boring grammar concept.
This is perfect for a Spanish 2+ class.
