This is a three part unit by Reading Through History. It includes summaries and questions which cover the explorations and achievements of three of Spain's most famous explorers who came to the New World. The topics include Juan Ponce de León, Hernando de Soto, and Francisco Coronado. Each reading is followed by a set of student activities to gauge reading comprehension, content retention, and vocabulary skills. Each lesson also contains a student response essay question. There is enough material to cover 2-3 days of class, depending on if one or two lessons are completed in a class period.
