This worksheet is a great way to introduce or review Spanish food vocabulary, particularly items commonly used to build a sandwich. I have used the initial grid as a way for students to take notes by drawing as I introduce new vocabulary, but it could also be used for review.
Once all vocabulary is in place, students use what they know to draw a favorite sandwich in the space at the bottom of the worksheet. After drawing, they label each ingredient in Spanish. I used this as independent class work after teaching the vocab; it could just as easily be done for homework. Working in class allows students to ask "¿Cómo se dice?" questions for additional vocabulary for condiments, herbs, and other ingredients beyond the basics on the list.
Consider having students present their favorite sandwiches in pairs or small groups for a follow-up activity the next day.
Note that this is presented as a Word document so you can edit vocabulary to match terms most useful in your classroom.
