Spanish Four Corners Activity for Weather and Activities: Exprésate 1 Chapter 3
¿Qué haces cuando nieva?
¿Qué haces cuando hace mucho sol?
You do not need to hang signs for this four corners activity! Each slide has four color-coded corners, 1 to represent each corner of the room. Students read all four options, and then move to the correct corner! Hanging signs for this activity is OPTIONAL.
There are 10 weather/related question slides, with four optional activities for each slide. The slides include common Spanish verbs conjugated in the present tense. Please check out the preview for an idea of what the game will look like.
Example: (also see preview)
¿Qué haces cuando hace buen tiempo?
Voy a la playa Salgo con mis amigos
Juego al béisbol Corro en el parque
Students are called to stand, and to listen to the spoken question posed by the teacher while reading it on the board as well. They are asked to move to the corner of the room that corresponds with their answer. For the top left answer, they move to the front left corner of the room, etc. I usually tell students they MUST move for each question-- no staying in one corner for the whole game! Any "undecided" students can choose to move to the center of the room and give an optional additional activity ALOUD.
This activity can take 10-15 minutes, based on how much discussion you allow for each slide! My kids ALWAYS ask for more questions at the end of these activities. They love being active and moving inside the classroom!
This activity is ready for use right away! I hope that you can use it year after year.
