The preterite tense in Spanish is used to identify a singular action that occured in a definite point in time. It, however, is also one of the most challenging tenses due to the many irregulars.
This two-page handout will provide students a basic understanding of the preterite conjugation as well as two commonly seen irregulars (verbs ending in -car, -gar, -zar) and the four radically irregular verbs: dar, ser, ir and ver.
Thanks for your interest. I hope that this handout may be helpful to you and your students.
