Martin El Raton is an engaging, easy read for beginner Spanish learners. The powerpoint includes colorful pictures along with the text to aid students in comprehension.
Martin El Raton was written with the beginning second language learner in mind. The story uses only headwords from the top fifty most frequently used Spanish words. Less than ten words in the story (highlighted in yellow) are outside of the top fifty word list. There are a few cognates outside the top fifty most frequently used word list. These words are highlighted in green.
Throughout the story there will be comprehension questions (short answer, true/false, and fill in the blank). These are intended to help the teacher check for student comprehension through the course of the lesson. This will help identify struggling students. Also, at the end of the story are additional activities the teacher can use as extensions to the lesson.
-Story on powerpoint
-Story on word (teachers guide)
