Students learn to use the Spanish verbs “gustar,” and “encantar” in natural conversation with this PowerPoint Competition, saying what they are like and what they like and dislike. Five activities cement the concept as students practice using “me gusta, te gusta” and other indirect object pronouns. Digital versions are included for distance learning.


  • 20-slide illustrated PowerPoint Competition in which students answer questions about what they like by saying what they are like. For example: ¿Te gusta corer? Sí, soy deportista.

  • Student Handout on the verbs “gustar” and “encantar”: comparisons of the Spanish and English structure and ways of saying one likes and dislikes things; demonstration of how to use the indirect object pronouns; how to use pronouns for emphasis; comparison of the use of the verb, “gustar” with nouns and with infinitives, comparison of the verb gustar with singular nouns and plural nouns, and related vocabulary such as, “A mí tampoco, pues, a veces, a mí también, estar con amigos, ¿Y a ti? Etc.
