I created this resource to supplement the reading program I currently use in my classroom, however it can be used with any reading program. This resource includes numerous opportunities for your students to practice reading common high-frequency words, which make up one-third of the words used in Spanish text. The activities in this pack will help students recognize these words anywhere, in context and isolation, without having to sound them out. This pack includes a variety of engaging activities that will help students master 50 Spanish high frequency words.
This is an Expansion Pack to my original Spanish High Frequency Words resource. Some of the words are repeated. This gives your students more practice with the words in different sentences. Use this as a review or in conjunction with my original pack!
This resource is not grade specific, as it can benefit students who are reading at an end of Kindergarten level in Spanish. This pack include common high frequency words with closed syllables within words, diphthongs, and accents.
The targeted words are:
dice, que, ir, tiene, su, si, gusta, mi, me, fui, la, una, un, el, está, veo, yo, esa, niña, no, por, es, se, con, niño, puedo, gustan, las, nos, dan, los, unas, ellos, les, doy, estaba, jugar, donde, mucho, aquí, dijo, ellas, y, para, mira, soy, puede, ser, mamá, papá.
This Download Includes:
*Student Word Lists
*Student Data Tracker
*Sight Word Assessment
*Student Progress Monitoring
*Sight Word Review Activities
*Sentences Worksheet (Students practice writing the complete sentences from the Scrambled Sentences activity, highlight the 5 target sight words, and draw a picture to go along with the related sentences).
*Certificates of Completion (color and black and white options)
The 50 words are divided into manageable lists of ten words as well as mini word lists of 5 words. All students are assessed and begin working on the word lists and activities they are struggling with. Since reading and writing are reciprocal processes, I have included writing activities as well. Once students master a list, they move on to the next list/level. I hope this resource helps your students master common high frequency words and become confident readers!
