This activity has three parts:
1. The first part is a paragraph where students just have to identify the -ar ending verbs by circling them. They are also encouraged to underline any vocabulary words that they understand. (In the chapter of my book with -ar ending verbs, the vocabulary words are school related.
2. Part 2 is an explanation of how to form an -ar ending verb. The steps are broken down by how to find the root of the verb and which endings are singular and plural as well as which endings belong with each subject.
**There are a number of T charts with -ar ending verbs so that the students can practice filling them in. There is an example given.
3. Part 3 has 7 sentences with -ar ending verbs and students have two choices and have to choose the correct ending.
**Extra**For students who are flying through parts 1 & 3, have then try to define the -ar ending verbs to make sure they know what they mean.
This could be used with a partner or alone, in class or as homework for introducing -ar ending verbs.
