This is a fun partner speaking activity. Put students in pairs and give them either A or B. The student with the starred expression in the right column starts. That student will the Spanish/French expression written. The other student will the expression and attempt to find a visual representation of that expression in the left column. Once found, the student will the expression that appears in the right column next to the picture that matched what he/she heard. The process continues and the expressions are not in order. Eventually, the pair will end up back at the starred expression. I have student play a few times and then swap papers with their partner and do the activity again. If you want to make it competitive after a while, time the students and have them beat their time for bonus. I also have the partners rotate so students work with others. It’s fun to listen to them and watch them help each other figure out the expressions when one is stumped. Also entertaining to watch them work the page as quickly as they can to beat the timer. Great before a test or quiz on vocabulary.
