Sentence mixer games are one of my favorite ways to add collaborative learning to my class! Groups work together to assemble sentences using the target verb tense or grammar skill.
This file includes instructions on how to make the most of this game – with an easier option that takes 15 minutes, and a more challenging option that can fill over a half hour.
The sentences are intentionally designed to keep reviewing syntax, word order, and agreement. Each set includes 10 scrambles, and there is at least one negative statement to practice negation, one question to practice interrogative word order, and one phrase that uses “nuestra clase” or something similar – a group that is a single subject.
This game reviews basic present tense conjugation of IR used with destinations and reviewing a la vs al. I kept the vocabulary simple (around school), but it is also editable if you want to tweak it to match your curriculum.
