In this lesson (¡Sé como Selena y no tengas miedo de hacer errores!) students watch a short clip of Selena's 1994 interview on El Show de Cristina. Developed mostly because of Selena's Spanish error on the show (she says "diez y cuatro" instead of "catorce" and then, laughing with Cristina, says ¿Pero me entiendes, verdad?), this lesson shows beginning Spanish students (or Spanish students of any level!) that making errors is normal and even fun. We just laugh it off, correct ourselves, and move on! With a link to the editable Google Doc included, this lesson includes a two page worksheet for students (one page front and back) for students to
A) Read a short, comprehensible (even to Spanish 1, mid-year students) description of Selena and Cristina and answer questions about them
B) Practice some vocabulary that appears in the video and
C) Watch the video and answer questions
Designed for Spanish 1 or 2 as a longer lesson, this could really work for any level, though it will most likely be an easy, quick review for the higher levels.
