This is a great activity for the start of class. I project the picture page on the board and I also print it out for students to see more easily. I use this for listening practice, but it could also be used for reading if the answers are blocked out on the listening script page. This could also be a partner activity with the answers blocked out. The pictures would be copied on one side and the listening script would be copied on the other. The students could take turns reading to each other. One could look at the pictures and the other would read the short passage in Spanish to them. Then they could decide together if the picture they chose matched what they read/heard.
The pictures are high interest and keep the students engaged.
The activity could be utilized further for translations of the listening script, or the student could choose one of the pictures and write their own short story about what is happening in the picture.
