If you want to do something to celebrate the holiday - Navidad - and you still want to keep up with grammar practice, this is for you!
I wrote a simplified version of the Night Before Christmas with more easily comprehensible vocabulary than the original. It includes 54 preterite and imperfect verbs - regular and irregular - representing a good variety of reasons for using each one.
Students work (in partners?) to circle whether each verb is preterite or imperfect and why is uses that tense. Since it's a familiar story, it should be easier for students to figure out why each tense is used - and more fun!
Includes an answer key as well!
This activity is also part of my Christmas Activity Pack
These activities primarily focus on the ACTFL language comparison standard and the relating cultural practices to perspectives standard.
Going paperless? You can use the PDF documents in the Notability app for students to add their writing.
