Spanish "No lo digas" Game - Celebrations & Traditions Vocabulary
This vocabulary list and game are intended for upper level Spanish
students. Students should already be comfortable with basic celebration vocabulary (cumpleaños, Navidad, regalo, celebrar, etc.). The list of words includes words related to common Hispanic holidays such as disfrazarse, festejar, morir, la bruja, el fantasma, la muerte, la vela, las Pascuas, los Reyes Magos, etc. Click here
to view the complete vocabulary list.
The vocabulary is aligned with Chapter 3
of the Pasajes
textbook for Spanish, but can be used in any upper level/AP Spanish
class working on a Family & Community
or Contemporary Life
There are two versions of the vocabulary list
. One has just the words in Spanish and students are to fill in the English translations, and the other is the same list with both the Spanish and English translations provided.
The No lo digas game
includes cards for all of the vocabulary words. You will need to print and cut out the cards. I print on card stock and laminate the cards to prolong their life, and have the students do the cutting.
In the "No lo digas game," one student describes a vocabulary word but may not use related "No lo digas" words listed on the vocabulary card, while team mates attempt to guess the word.
My students love to play this game and yours will, too!
