I created this bundle of puzzles to help my students with word recognition and spelling during the numbers unit.
The first two puzzles are variations of the traditional word search. Students are given puzzles that contain numbers 1-100 but they are not given the words to help them search. Also, the have to write the words that they find in order to receive credit.
The third puzzle list several numerals across the top of a grid and students are instructed to spell the numbers vertically. If their responses are correct, and correctly spelled, their puzzle will reveal a place name.
These puzzles are designed to provide helpful practice with a fresh twist to keep students engaged. They will be valuable additions to your current numbers unit but they are also great bell ringers and differentiation activities. You can also include them in your substitute teacher plans.
