Practice and Review the Spanish Numbers with this 53-page PowerPoint.
This PowerPoint provides guided practice for the Spanish numbers 1-15 (the most essential) and combines original images that I took in San Juan, Puerto Rico, San José, Costa Rica, Lima, Peru, and La Ciudad de Guatemala. The images are appropriate for all classrooms and are culturally authentic.
The PowerPoint begins with just the numbers 1-5, 6-10, and 11-15. For these first three slides I simply point to the numbers and have my students identify them. The slides that follow show the numbers and reveal the words for the numbers for the class.
The remainder of the slides show buses, people, billboards, etc. with questions asking students, "¿Cuántas personas hay en la foto?" ¿Cuál es el número del taxi?"
The specific images were selected to:
1. Provide practice especially for the numbers 1-15
2. Support the development of asking questions,
3. Build student vocabulary with the use of cognates.
At the end of the PowerPoint, there is a bonus section that provides additional practice for a few numbers greater than 15.
This PowerPoint is great as a practice activity, a warm-up or bellringer, especially the day or two after introducing the Spanish numbers. The images will engage your students and make them want to participate.
As a time-saver for the buyer, there are no sounds or transitions on this PowerPoint. You are free to make those changes if and as you desire. In fact, the pictures can be copied and resized so that you can create classroom posters. However, the pictures are my original photography and I do not give any permission for commerical use of them.
