Chatting, Charlando! is an activity that helps students create a dialogue putting together the pieces (literally! vocabulary on "luggage tag" cards) of Spanish past tense language that they've learned.
This particular Charlando packet focuses on telling a friend about a vacation that recently took place. Students will practice past tense verbs including irregulars like "ir!"
I've noticed that some of my students can get nervous about speaking in front of the class, so I introduced this activity. Creating a conversation on their own helps BUILD THEIR CONFIDENCE when it comes to actually speaking the language in front of their classmates!
In this packet you'll find for:
- Blank word & phrase luggage tag cards
- 95 pre-filled in word cards
- 3 sets of instruction cards to choose from
- A luggage tag worksheet for your students to write their dialogues
You can use this as an individual activity, partner activity or as homework. It's a great activity to give a student as a make up activity for having missed out on participation points too! Use your imagination! (great to have on hand for an emergency substitute kit!)
This activity fully covers ACTFL's National Foreign Language Standarnds in these categories:
Standard 1.2: Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics
Standard 1.3: Students present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners or readers on a variety of topics.
