This product offers an opportunity to practice penmanship, spelling, and learning new vocabulary. It's a great tool for English and Spanish speakers. It provides consistency which will help you build independence among non Spanish speakers.
The routine I used with my second graders is as follow. it takes about 10-15 minutes to complete on a daily basis. Every Monday introduce the letter and vocabulary for the week. The first two weeks teacher should provide an exemplar every day, so that students can see the end result of their product what should look like. Students have a designated notebook for the phonics. Before I introduce the phonics interactive notebook I stablished a routine on how to pass out all the materials for time management. Once we learned to take 2-3 minutes on passing out all the materials or gathering them, they were ready to start working on the worksheets.
Spanish speakers: Spanish speakers were able to practice their punctuations and spelling skills.
English speakers: English speakers were able to practice sentence structure.
