A and E picture word cards help students develop fluency with reading words and syllables that contain these vowels. Glue the picture and word on one side of the card and the plain word on the other. Students read the plain word first, and then can check if they are right by flipping the card over. Knowing the picture is on the other side motivates them to read the word correctly instead of saying random words.
There are 29 two-syllable words that contain A and E vowels, 16 three-syllable words, and 3 four-syllable words, for a total of 48 picture cards. Each picture has a corresponding plain word card to glue on the back.
