The Spanish verb SER is one of the most high-frequency Spanish verbs.
I created this group of handouts to provide additional practice for students who are learning or reviewing the verb SER. I think that these worksheet activities will be most effective if assigned after students have been introduced to SER although they can also be useful as part of the initial lesson.
Several of the worksheets are fill-in-the-blank worksheets that contain twenty-one sentences each. No word banks are provided for the students for these worksheets. The sentences give examples of SER used with:
2. Origin and Nationality
7. Food and beverages
Another worksheet lists all of the subject pronouns and ten other singular and plural subjects and requires students to write the correct form(s) of SER beside them. There are word banks provided for this worksheet.
Answer keys are included for all three worksheets.
This download will be a great addition to your current course materials and can be used for review at any time during the school year, especially as you prepare for exams. They can also be assigned individually or for small group work. In fact, there are a lot of applications for these materials:
1. Bell ringers / warm-ups
2. Exam review activities
6. Inclusion as part of sub plans
8. Used to document student mastery
As a BONUS, the original cover art can be printed and displayed as a classroom poster. I took the cover photo at Museo Larco in Lima, Peru and the additional picture shows a meal at a restaurant in Antigua, Guatemala.
