I wrote this short picture story to introduce prepositions to my students. It is perfect for students in upper elementary and middle school. This story focuses on the following prepositions: dentro de, encima de, debajo de, detrás de. It also includes basic bedroom vocabulary: la cama, la mesita de noche, el armario, and la silla.
I teach this story over three days, but you could easily stretch it to five if you have students make a comic strip of the story and perform a Reader's Theater skit.
In this story, Pedro is tired, but he can't sleep because he is scared. There is a monster under his bed! There is a monster behind his nightstand! There is a monster inside of his closet! There is a monster on his chair!

I teach this story with TPRS®, a method developed by Blaine Ray.
This story provides input that is comprehensible, engaging, and carefully structured to include lots of repetition. I have been using TPRS® in my classes since 2007 and have found it to be a highly successful method for learning languages. I have used TPRS® with preschool through adult classes and have found that learners of all ages are captivated by stories.
