This challenging translation activity asks students to translate ten English sentences into Spanish using the present perfect. Also mixed in are different usages of direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns, so it serves as a good review of those as well.
At the top, students are given the following formula to follow:
Subject + no (if needed) + D.O./I.O. pronoun + form of haber + past partiple (-ado or -ido)
So, for example, they might have to translate the sentence "Juan hasn't read it," with "it" being "un libro." Using the formula, they should come up with the translation "Juan no lo ha leído."
Many of these sentences involve the preterite, so your students will need to have learned the preterite before they can complete this activity.
