Product Description
Use Mexican group Reik's first hit single Yo quisiera to teach and review -ar verbs and other present tense verbs (decir, sentir, saber, etc) with comprehensible input. Students love the YouTube video (link included) for this boy band's romantic ballad, and pre-listening activities insure that they will understand (and enjoy!) the song's context. While this lesson can be used with a Spanish 1 class (the editable Google Doc is included so you can change as needed), I especially like using it with upper level classes to review because it is easy enough to understand while also including some reflexives (desvelarse, desesperarse), stem-changers (pedir, sentir, morir, decir), and irregulars/spelling changes (saber, recoger). The students will be so engaged with the song and speaking activities that they won't feel like they're working! Lesson includes a two page worksheet for students with vocabulary preview, verb preview with communicative prompts, a song cloze line. Answers included.
