This activity gives students the opportunity to see the contrast between completed action and repeated action in the past. It contains twelve 2-part English to Spanish translations. The first is a sentence in the preterit tense indicating specific time frames and the second is the same sentence in the imperfect tense containing words and phrases indicating vague, repetitive, or non-specific time frames.
A sample is:
- The doctor called this morning.
- The doctor called so many times.
Sample verbs used are ir de compras, patinar, llamar, nadar, fregar, cantar, and visitar.
The answer key is included.
