Spanish Preterite/Pretérito PowerPoint, TPR Story and Interactive Notebook Activities

This 99-slide Preterite/Pretérito PowerPoint and activities begins and ends with comprehensible input in Spanish. It covers all of the regular preterite verbs including those with orthographic and stem changes.
It includes the following in this order:
~Comprehensible input using mostly -ar verbs with the “yo” form
~Formation of -ar conjugation in the preterite
~Comparison of, “trabajé” and “que trabaje”
~Practice in which students write complete sentences in Spanish using the preterite tense of -ar verbs
~Explanation of the hard and soft sounds and spelling changes: car-qué, gar-gué, and zar-cé in the “yo” form
~Check for understanding in which students write complete sentences in the "yo" form
~Competition and practice of orthographic changes in which students write complete sentences in the pretérito.
~Bonus points for answering questions using the preterite tense
~Formation of -er and -ir conjugation in the preterite tense
~ Check for understanding
~Comparison of the present tense (stem-changing) and the preterite tense (no stem change). For example: “vuelvo” y “volví”
~Check for understanding in which students write complete sentences in Spanish changing the present tense to the preterite tense.
~Explanation of stem-changing (e-i) -ir verbs
~Practice conjugation of the following verbs: pedir, servir, repetir, freír, seguir, vestirse, divertirse
~Explanation of stem-changing (o-u) -ir verbs (morir-murió, dormir-durmió)

~Competition in context in which students change the present tense to the preterite. Some irregular verbs mixed in.
~Bell work activity in which students answer questions and change sentences with errors to logical sentences. The teacher must change the names to the names of students in his/her class.
