Activity Information:

An end-of-unit project to practice preterite vs. imperfect! Students write the synopsis of a movie in the past tense using preterite and imperfect. But they can't use the names of any characters or actors so you can use it as a class guessing game. The students get speaking and listening practice without even realizing it!

My projects includes an instruction sheet, work day guides, drafting pages, a sample, and a rubric. It also incorporates peer edits, reading, writing, and speaking. I also included PDF and DOC copies so you can adjust the requirements, point totals, or vocabulary to meet your students' needs.

If you like this idea – ready-to-go-projects that try to incorporate reading, writing, listening and speaking in the target language – this is also available as part of my Spanish Project Bundle

Pro Tip: Do the Spanish Dictionary Activity to kick this off and help students learn how to use a dictionary or online dictionary to write their best Spanish!.

Topic Information:

This product is part of my collection on the distinction between preterite and imperfect in Spanish. There are separate collections for preterite conjugation and imperfect conjugation as well. I aim to keep vocabulary as neutral as possible, and while PDF products are not editable, products sold as ZIP files include editable files so you can add unit-specific vocabulary.

This product is also included in my Preterite Vs Imperfect Bundle.

If you are teaching Spanish 3, this product is also available as part of my Spanish 3 Mega-Bundle

Standards:

This formal assessment primarily focuses on the ACTFL language interpretive and presentational communication standards.
