Description

Get your students to practice and deepen their knowledge of the Spanish Preterite and Imperfect verb tenses (regular and irregular verbs) with this reading passage and activities. “El domingo pasado” includes an original reading passage, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing activities. There are two versions of this product (differentiation!), to make sure you can use it with different class levels.

This resource has:

- a printable version (Pdf format)

- a digital version (PowerPoint format) which can be assigned to your students via your LMS (such as Google Classroom)

This resource can be printed and done on paper or it can be assigned digitally.

What you get:

- a Powerpoint Presentation with 15 pictures of hobbies and vocabulary notes (for the teacher). This file is editable and is meant to be used as a pre-reading activity.

- Reading passage, comprehension and grammar: differentiated versions

Version A

  • original reading passage (with vocabulary footnotes)
  • vocabulary exercise (opposites)
  • 2 comprehension activities (matching exercise + comprehension questions)
  • grammar: fill in the gaps activity - students conjugate the verbs either in the Preterite or in the Imperfect.

Version B

  • original reading passage (with vocabulary footnotes)
  • vocabulary exercise (opposites)
  • 2 comprehension activities (matching and True/False exercise)
  • grammar: fill in the gaps activity - students conjugate the verbs in the Preterite

- a speaking and writing activity – students ask their partners what they did last Sunday and take notes; then they write a text with the information they found out.

This resource is completely written in Spanish.

It is appropriate for intermediate and advanced Spanish students.
