This is a one-page, 411 word short story about a girl who is home alone at night at becomes frightened. It turns out to be humorous at the very end. It's based on a true story of my childhood. There are examples of the imperfect and the preterite throughout the story. There are both regular and irregular verbs throughout. There are 2 small pictures embedded in the story to keep interest. After the story there is a true/false question set, some verb recognition sets, and a summarizing part. The follow-up activities are written in English based on the training I had by National World Language Consultant, Laura Terril. Laura's research indicates that to truly assess reading comprehension in a second language, questions about that passage should be in English. If you'd prefer them to be in Spanish, you can easily switch them. This is a good sub activity as well. There is an answer key for the true/false section and for the summarizing section. This is the Google Doc version of a 5 star-rated product I currently sell as a Word Doc. Enjoy!
