This product includes two parts: the "reasons" list of using preterite vs. imperfect
, and then a quiz
assessing those reasons and using them in sentences.
The English and Spanish versions of the "reasons" list are both included.
Example reasons include: "one time action" (preterite) or "description in the past" (imperfect). The "reasons" list has two handouts on each page in order to save paper.
The first part of the 1.5 page quiz gives students a word bank of the list of "reasons." Students need to put the number of each reason in either the preterite or imperfect column. Next, students need to read sentences in Spanish and write "P" (preterite) or "I" (imperfect) and then the reason for each of the verbs. Finally, students need to write complete sentences for three of the reasons listed.
There are also two versions of the quiz.
The first is written in Spanish but asks students to provide the "reasons" in English. The other version of the quiz is entirely in Spanish.
An answer sheet is included for the quiz.
