¡Hola! This is one of many pronunciation practice pages that I have used in the classroom. My students seem to enjoy this type of activity and are generally successful in helping each other to improve their pronunciation. Many are excited to participate at the end, demonstrating what they've learned.

Overview: This set is intended for students to use orally, in pairs or small groups, with teacher guidance. It contains...

- a four-page Spanish pronunciation packet for the hard and soft G
-- Page 1 - the pronunciation rules for each sound, and examples of Spanish words with each sound (in separate columns)
-- Page 2 - a mixed list of additional words containing both sounds
-- Page 3 - rules and practice - special cases: gue, gui, güe & güi combinations
-- Page 4 - a mixed list of additional words containing both G sounds, including special cases

- flashcards
-- Page 5 - four flashcards with the pronunciation rules for the hard and soft G, and the special cases
-- Pages 6-18 - flashcards for every word from pages 1 to 4 (plus a few extras)

How I use this: I generally introduce this to students by explaining and modeling the pronunciation, and then practicing with them aloud using select words from page 1.
After that, I have them get into pairs or small groups and practice page 1. When they feel confident enough and are ready for the challenge, they can move ahead to page 2. I encourage students to listen to each other, and to correct each other as needed. Of course, I float throughout the room and assist students as needed. When students are finished, I bring the class back together and call on students to pronounce the words from page 2 aloud. I repeat these steps for pages 3 and 4 a day or two later. Flashcards can be used for additional practice, or instead of the pages themselves.

Duration (Pages 1 & 2): Depending on the age and dynamics of the class, I'd say it takes 1 to 3 minutes to introduce the assignment, 3 to 5 minutes for students to practice together, and then another 2 to 4 minutes to bring the class back together to share what they've learned.
