This is a set of 20 digital reading comprehension task cards. It includes 5 nonfiction reading passages with 4 questions each. Passages are medium-size with about 3 paragraphs each and a real-life picture to go along with it. On each card, after reading the passage they will answer a multiple-choice STAAR-aligned question. Immediate feedback is given when an answer is selected. Targeted questions are detailed below.
1) Main idea (3.9Di, 4.9Di, 5.9Di)
2) Context clues (3.3B, 4.3B, 5.3B)
3) Author's purpose (3.10A, 4.10A, 5.10B)
4) Making Inferences (3.6F, 4.6F, 5.6F)
Nonfiction passages are focused on 5 arctic animals
- El Oso Polar
- El Frailecillo Atlantico
- Los Pinguinos
- El zorro artico
- La Ballena Beluga

When you download this product, you will receive a PDF with a link to the digital task cards on the Boom Learning website. These digital task cards can be used on the Boom Learning website only. It will ask you to either log in or create an account, once you take this step you will see the task cards in your library.
You can use Boom for free. However, a paid account (see pricing here HERE) is very affordable and you will be able to:
- Get reports about student progress
- Easily assign students multiple decks to work on
- Create an entire classroom of student logins
These passages can be completed fully online through the BOOM Learning website or app (or with other platforms like SeeSaw, Canvas, Schoolology, Class Dojo, and more). This video explains how to use Boom Cards on other platforms: Assigning Boom Cards in an LMS.
