I created this handout as a reference sheet for my Spanish students and have found it very helpful as they learn to read authentic texts for comprehension.
Reading comprehension is one of the most important skills that we will teach our students, regardless of the level. Using the simple mnemonic that I created, T.E.P.I.C., my students learn to evaluate Spanish-language texts and make predictions prior to reading for comprehension. As a differentiation tool, I am including two versions of this handout.
You also get a cover page that contains the crest of Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega that I took in Lima, Peru. This cover page can be printed and displayed as a classroom poster. This is especially significant for AVID schools who are encouraged / required to display university flags, banners, and other items.
