Take your Spanish-speaking countries lesson to the next level with activities that will challenge your students as they learn the Geography of Latin America.
I created the materials in this bundle to provide practice and varying degrees of rigor for my students as they learn the Spanish-speaking Countries, their Capitals, and their locations. Specifically you get:
1 A worksheet that features two columns and an alphabetical list of country and capital names. As a pre-assessment, students are asked to write the countries and capitals in their proper columns. (This worksheet can also be used as a Formative Assessment or Self-Assessment.
2 A worksheet that asks students to list the countries and capitals without the benefit of a word bank.
3 A worksheet that features 27 groups of Spanish-speaking countries and / or capitals. Students are tasked with identifying the country or capital that does not belong in the group with the others. For additional rigor, students may also be asked to explain the rationale for their responses.
4 The bundle includes a blank map of the Western Hemisphere that students can fill in and use for reference.
5 A word search that features the Spanish-speaking countries, their capitals, AND several of the largest cities in Spain. This activity was designed to be more than just a word search. Not only does it support sight recognition of the countries and capitals, it provides an opportunity for collaboration and independent research / homework.
6 In addition to the answer keys, I also include notes that I think will be helpful as you use my materials.
7 Lastly, the bundle includes two original photos that can be printed and displayed in the classroom. You get a copy of the cover photo that I took in Costa Rica and a photo of Andes Mountains taken from above.
