What is a Scavenger Hunt activity?
Scavenger Hunts are a great game for students to practice vocabulary, and they can work at their own pace! Students get to get up out of their seats, rather than simply fill in verb forms on a worksheet. Some students will race each other to see who can finish first and others will take their leisurely time. The last vocabulary word students get to will lead loop them back to their first vocabulary word, so students can start anywhere in the loop of vocab words.
How do you set up a Scavenger Hunt activity?
-the teacher posts half-sheets with vocabulary words and pictures on them around the room
-students start at any word near them
-students look at the picture of the vocabulary word and write the actual vocabulary word on their paper
-they find the word around the room
-they walk over to it and look at the next picture for the next vocabulary word
This Scavenger Hunt is for food vocabulary and includes 25 vocabulary words.
-las papas fritas
This activity is ideal for a Spanish 1 class. It could also be used in a Spanish 2 class to review.
