ACTIVITY: “El Pronóstico del Tiempo” (Weather Forecast)

DIRECTIONS: You are a meteorologist (meteorólogo/a) and you are preparing the weather forecast in Spanish for tonight’s news broadcast.
1. Color the pictures in each of the squares.
2. Then, cut out each square and paste them onto the television screen in the correct order, Monday – Sunday.
3. Finally, share your weather forecast with the class completely in Spanish!

Teacher Tip! There are two levels of this activity included with this resource. Level 1, a more simple activity with coloring, cutting, and pasting. Level 2, a more difficult activity where students will have to create a forecast by drawing pictures based on its description in Spanish and then presenting their weather forecast to the class.

GAME: Seasons & Weather “Pictionades”

DIRECTIONS: Print out flashcards on white cardstock and cut them out. Break the class up into teams, or if the class is small, have students play individually. Using a whiteboard or piece of paper, have students pick a card and draw a picture representing the season or the weather from the card. Or, instead of drawing, students can act out the card like they would in Charades using no verbal cues. The first person who guesses correctly gets a point and gets to draw/act next. Continue until everyone has had a chance. The person or team with the most points at the end wins.
